Walking in a Winter Wonderland

There is something so cozy about chocolate and cream color schemes. It reminds me of hot chocolate with a dolop of whipped cream on top; the type of drink you'd have on a chilly winter day while your wrapped up in your favorite blanket sitting in front of the fire.
We created a forest of birch trees accented by a canopy of twinkle lights and hanging votive candles. Each centerpiece was filled with gorgeous white roses, chocolate wire and chocolate glittered leaves and branches.
It was a night to remember. As the lights went down and the fire started to flicker the ceiling glowed with a beautiful ambient light white the hanging candles flickered through the trees. There is nothing quite like actually being there, but it was stunning.

We want to take a second today and wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Thank you for your business. We will be forever grateful for the chance to create beautiful pieces for you, your friends and family to enjoy. Happy Holidays from all of us here at The Blooming Idea.

November Weddings

Here are just a few snapshots of some of the weddings we did in November. Featured above was a gorgeous ceremony set up with a beautiful white 100 foot aisle runner framed with glowing lanterns and mixed rose petals.
We also had a beautiful wedding on The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center Forest Deck. I love the way rose petals look along the aisle on the deck. It softens everything up and makes it feel so much more romantic. The coordinating centerpieces sat atop our rental fluted vases with hot pink miniature garden roses, lilies, and soft fillers with a mixture of greenery.
The blushing bride had her ceremony and reception at Ashton Gardens on a gorgeous day. Her vivid purple and yellow color scheme was stunning against the neutral background of the chapel and reception hall. Her bouquet was a modern cascade, or what we like to refer to as a tear drop style bouquet with oriental lilies, stephanotis, roses, lisianthus and white cushion mums creating beautiful texture and a rich fragrance.
Her cake was one of the most original I've seen. I loved the classic style with modern influences. The yellow roses really popped off the creamy white cake tiers.
For this beautiful bride we went with an all red color scheme with accents of rusty orange to add depth and contrast. Her ceremony was held on The Warff Terrace at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center while the reception was right across the pier in The Glass. Her tall centerpieces were filled with gorgeous red gladiolas, while her low centerpieces included a mix of lilies, cushion mums, alstromeria and mixed greenery.

It was a month filled with rich colors and beautiful brides! Of course these weren't all the events we did, but I'll be featuring more soon. So stay tuned!

Pave'd Centerpieces

These gorgeous centerpieces were made for a gentlemen's golf team dinner at The Club at Carlton Woods. Every now and then it's nice to change your decor up a bit. It can be as simple as changing a color or making something taller, but in this case we did the opposite; we went short or more appropriately, pave'd.
Pave' is a technique where everything is kept short and clustered together for dramatic texture and subtle impact. These beauties were made in beautiful chocolate brown trays with clustered grasses, roses and other varieties of blooms. We even added a golf ball on some moss to mimic the greens of the Carlton Woods Courses.

A Royal Tablescape

Tablescapes are always eye catching and set a beautiful romantic mood for any event. They are by far one of my favorite types of floral decor. I love the different elements, texture, and heights that can be incorporated into one cohesive piece.
For this event there were two golf teams whose colors were red and blue having a fabulous dinner at The Club at Carlton Woods. One side of the table was red and the other blue.
We used a variety of flowers and fruits to create different shapes and textures throughout the tablescape.
And of course for any formal dinner, candlelight is always a must. We used raised cake platters for wreaths of flowers and pillar candles and votive glass holders for two levels of light.
