Spook-tacular Arrangements

 Halloween is such a fun holiday. With vibrant oranges, lime greens, plum and black the contrast between the shades is fun and slightly mysterious.

 Each year at the Carlton Woods they throw a fabulous Halloween Party for the Children in the neighborhood. So we like to get a little spooky with our flowers.

Plus it's a fabulous excuse to incorporate candy into our arrangements. And honestly, who doesn't love candy?

Modern Halloween

 Purple has been sneaking itself into Halloween color schemes for a few years now. When parked with lime green and black it definitely sets the stage for a fun and almost mysterious Halloween color scheme. Plus we love the color with all the richness and depth it brings into arrangements it's hard not to resist.

 Here are a few of our fabulous Halloween arrangements that highlight this new fabulous addition to the traditional orange and black. These arrangements played on the different depths of purple and used black as a contrasting color to really give them a mysterious and sophisticated elegance.

Of course no party is complete without a giant show stopping centerpiece, and this beauty was filled with black branched, black glitter mesh ribbon, led lights, hanging orchids, lisianthus, spider mums, seeded eucalyptus, stock, statice and artichokes. 

We love the textures that some fruits and vegetables give arrangements. It's even better when they happen to be the perfect color. These artichokes were fabulous additions to the arrangements, making guests look twice. Halloween can be fun and traditional or sophisticated and modern, your imagination is the limit when it comes to celebrating this hauntingly fabulous holiday, and we are always here to help!

October is Finally Here!

 Autumn has finally arrived; which for us at the shop is always a reason to celebrate! Not only is it our favorite time of year when the weather cools down and it's near perfect weather for being outside, but it's time to start decorating for the holidays and getting ready for all the fabulous parties.

 Halloween is such a fun holiday and we've noticed a huge rise in vintage inspired decor. These fabulous arrangements were inspired by the vintage masks you see incorporated into the actual arrangements. Pieces like this can often be used in arrangements to create a completely different theme. Not to mention it's a great way to tie your decor together with your theme! Halloween parties are always a blast and weather it's modern, traditional or vintage themed, we've got just the right arrangements to make sure it's a spook-tacular event!

Black and White Polka Dots

 Polka dots are so fun, youthful and always lively when paired with white and yellow! This bridal bouquet of yellow and white roses, white daisies, white freesia and crystal accents was wrapped with a fun crystal ribbon. The traditional style of the bouquet let the fun and fragrant flowers shine.

 The bridesmaids carried similar bouquets with tufts of black and white polkadot ribbon loops  with yellow roses and white daisies.

 The ceremony was held at St. Anthony of Pauda Church in The Woodlands. The traditional altar arrangements with yellow gladiolas, white hydrangea, yellow roses and white daisies framed the bride and groom during their ceremony.

 The reception was held in the Emerald Ballroom at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center. With alternating high arrangements of forsythia branches and daisies, and low arrangements using lanterns with florals wreaths the tables were a fun mix of classic and whimsical.

 The table numbers were incorporated into the arrangements by hanging them from ribbon and attaching them to the lanterns making them easy to see and a fun part of the arrangement.

The cake was decorated with yellow miniature garden roses and daisies in a sloping cascade down the side of the cake tiers.

I Do...

... is a phrase that many happy couples are uttering this month! The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center has a beautiful deck overlooking the golf course and a lake with a fountain that has it's own gazebo tucked away among the tall pine trees. This spot is a true favorite for brides. With it's beautiful scenery you can easily see why.
This couple, with their white and purple color scheme chose to stretch tulle across the front of the gazebo to create a softer frame for the bridal party; while keeping the linens at their reception dark to allow the beautiful white arrangements to stand in brilliant contrast, catching their guests attention.

The second featured couple kept the gazebo simple with our timeless curtains that softly move with the wind. This is truly a romantic setting for such a sacred occasion, and with beautiful white and green floral tie backs it created the perfect photo backdrop.

Their reception was held in The Glass. With dark linens and a mix of tall and low centerpieces their guests couldn't help but stop to admire the room as they entered.

Our third featured couple for Forest Deck weddings this week chose a classic red, black and white color scheme. They used our beautiful curtains with red floral ties backs, curly willow branches across the top of the gazebo to create line and movement, a beautiful white aisle runner lined with red rose petals and simple white hydrangea with black and cranberry ribbon bows.
For the reception they again alternated tall and low centerpieces, which really gives added height and color to the ballrooms, creating a more intimate setting for you and your guests to enjoy, and party all night long!

Bold Colors with Great Contrast

The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center has a wide array of beautiful ballrooms. The ceremony pictured above is in The Glass, looking out over the water. With the bold color combination of the flowers the room was really transformed into the perfect setting for her ceremony, then flipped and used for the reception later that night.
The Emerald ballroom is also one of my favorites with it's tall glass windows that overlook the golf course, and it's larger capacity the natural light really high lights the beautiful centerpieces. This fun mix of gladiolas, orchids and carnations with the contrasting black feathers, black linens and white chair covers gave the room and very classic color pallet with a contemporary flare.

A Hint of Blush

There is something so beautiful about a soft color pallet with whites, greens and a hint of a blush pink. It just screams bridal, in a soft pretty way ;)... This beautiful bride had her ceremony at the Woodlands United Methodist Church in the Robb Chapel. The chapel was decorated with white roses on the pews, white hydrangea plants on the altar and beautiful greenery wreaths with a white focal area of mixed flowers on the doors.

Her bouquet was a stunning mix of all white flowers including peonies, roses and miniature calla lilies. The fragrance was incredible. I always say, if your nose allows, that every bride should have something sweet to smell when their photographer tells them to put their nose in their bouquet. It adds just a little something extra to the day and pleasant memories when you come across familiar fragrances later.
Her reception was held at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center in the Palmetto Room. With beautiful black linens and white chair covers the flowers really had a chance to shine! With gorgeous white gladiolas in tall glass flutes and a textural mix of blooms in the low arrangements you couldn't help but say "Wow" as you walked into the room. Her low arrangements were filled with a beautiful mix of blush dahlias, bells of Ireland and white hydrangea (please pardon the picture it looks like yellow... but it's really white) with a soft mix of greens. It was a gorgeous day for a fabulous bride.

This is how we ring in the New Year.

 There is nothing quite as fun and vibrant contrast in color when working with flowers. One of my favorites (as is probably very evident) is black, white and green! We had a blast creating these beautiful pieces for The Club at Carlton Woods' New Years Eve party.

 These beautiful buffet pieces were truly striking. With strong line and movement they were the focal pieces of the room.

 There were 3 different styles of table centerpieces used on the guest tables. The first were beautiful black lanterns surrounded by a platform of gorgeous green blooms including button mums, green roses, hypericum berries, spider mums, rolled aspidistra leaves, bells of Ireland, black pods sprinkled with holigraphic glitter, dendrobium orchids and a variety of greenery.

 Our showpiece was the hit of the night. With balls of beautiful green blooms and swirling calla lilies how could you not stare, even if it's for just a second! They were beautiful.

The dangling crystals and candle light added a bit of glistening light to the room. And to top it all off, we heard the party was an absolute hit! So to you and yours, Happy New Year!

Black and White

If you were to look back 10, 20, 30, even 40 years at wedding picture you would find one thing in common amongst them all... Black and White color schemes. It's a classic understated elegance that has evolved with a contemporary flare.This last weekend one of our weddings was just that, understated, classic, elegant with a little flare. I like to think of it as Traditional in a non traditional way. Black candelabras draped in glass crystals, white flowers in an arching line with a touch of green to add dimension to the all white color pallet, strong vertical lines, and texture and visual interest with a variety of flowers.
