Condiff Photography

July 26th we invited an established photographer to be our guest and tag along with us to photograph one of our celebrity events that weekend. We were privileged to have April Condiff from Condiff Photography join us that day to help capture the entire ambiance of the wedding. April is a professional photographer who works in Spring TX and other surrounding areas. She and her husband mark have over 20 years experience in event photography.

As artists it was very interesting to see another artist at work. She was kind enough to share the photographs she took with us, and we are pleased to share them with you. There is something special about flowers that makes their beauty nearly impossible to capture on film; although April did come very close. We hope you enjoy these beautiful portraits.

We Love NY

Fresh green, pure white, and a pop of pink was the perfect combination for this stylish New York wedding. The textural mix of peonies, cymbidium orchids, blueplurum, green hydrangea, and roses was a fresh accent to the blushing bride.

Fiery Fall Tones

School has started, which means fall is right around the corner. Luckily that also means the intense Houston heat is on its way out for a season or two. As the temperatures drop the number of outdoor weddings increase, and beautiful fall colors are the perfect way to add spice and flare to a late summer or fall event.

Texture, and visual interest ranked among the top of this Brides priorities. By using a mix of tropical flowers, elegant calla lilies, electric green hydrangea, and other flowers we created a bouquet that truly reflected her fiery personality.

For a more contemporary and non-traditional flare we opted to adorn the Groom and Fathers with pocket squares. Using orchids, chocolate cosmos, and hypericum berries we mimicked the textural interest of the Brides bouquet while keeping it simple and masculine.

Autumn tones are some of the most inviting and emotional colors used throughout the year. They evoke passionate sensations with fiery oranges, reds, burgundy, chocolates, and yellows, creating an energetic and comfortable ambiance. Often times we will add a pop of lime green to liven things up or use deep espresso brown to intensify the richness and depth of the color scheme.

Summer Lovin'...

... with a slight chance of rain. Fortunately the skies stayed blue, and the red umbrellas made for a fun photographic touch. The Brides love of the heat of summer and bright exciting colors set the tone for this black, white, and red wedding with a punch of yellow.

The 10 stunning bridesmaids carried a beautiful long stemmed bouquet of solid red roses, two toned yellow roses, and miniature yellow gerbera daises wrapped in a gorgeous black satin ribbon, corset style. The Bride carried a two dozen red rose bouquet with dramatically long stems wrapped in the same corset style in black satin ribbon. The beautiful skies, and gorgeous flowers set the tone for this bright and lively summer wedding.

With Deepest Sympathy

Flowers are a silent companion for all of life's major events. We often receive flowers in celebration of birth and on birthdays. Young couples courting often exchange flowers as a sign of affection. Flowers adorn all aspects of the celebration of weddings and anniversaries. All too often we loose those who are near and dear to us. Thus, it seems fitting that in memorandum to those we love, we show our appreciation and respect with an arrangement of flowers that is reflective of the personality of those who have passed.

Sympathy designs can be used to express a story or different aspects of the personality of the deceased. The mere presence of flowers at a memorial service changes the tone of the venue. Earlier this summer Mary ventured up to Texas A&M to participate in a hands on class with Hitomi and other designers. The class focused on a few different areas including sympathy, bouquets, everyday arrangements, and floral jewelry (or as we like to call it - living jewelry). July Weddings

Something about the summer beckons for beautiful outdoor weddings. Below are a few collages of different events in different styles that we were thrilled to create during this last month.

Beautiful fiery tones stirred up excitement with mango calla lilies, red roses, and green cymbidium orchids.

Green and white has become a new fresh and trendy color pallet. It is an invigorating addition to a traditionally all white wedding.

Sunny days bring sunny flowers. The two-tone yellow lilies created a vibrant punch of color for a fun summer night.


Blue and green created a calming and beach-like ambiance setting the tone for this laid back couple.

Fragrance filled the air with this beautiful hot pink and white wedding. The stargazer lilies created a pop of color and filled the chapel with an enticingly sweet aroma.

Celebrity Celebrations

Here are a few shots from a passionately purple wedding this last weekend. The bridal party included 17 bridesmaids and over 20 groomsmen. Needless to say it was an amazing event, fit for the famous couple. The bridesmaid bouquets were a beautiful bled of lavender, plum, and two-tone calla lilies with ti leaf, lily grass, and monstera leaf accents. The natural and semi tropical style created a beautiful and dramatic ambiance for the outdoor ceremony.

From crystal bead curtains, satin lined tents, and a canopy of lush white flowers, every last detail was executed to perfection. The ceremony was held at the Club at Carlton Woods, and the reception followed after at the Fazio Club at Carlton Woods, just down the street. The bridesmaids plum dresses stood out beautifully against a background of all white. The brides dramatic entrance was emphasized by flower girls spreading petals from baskets on a pony's back and her arrival by an all white horse drawn carriage.

The reception was also a spectacle to behold. The Fazio was transformed from a rustic Mediterranean villa to a castle draped in lavender, plum, and chocolate satin from floor to ceiling. We alternated the height of the centerpieces to add additional impact and interest. A garland of flowers including orchids and miniature garden roses surrounded the base of the cake, as well as the custom ice sculpture. Each napkin was adorned with a purple dendrobium orchid, and the brides and grooms table had a sexy and sleek arrangement full of plum, lavender, and two tone calla lilies, lily grass, and dark ti leaves.

When all was said and done the Fazio looked appropriately fit for a King and his new Queen.

2009 TSFA Convention in Dallas... Part 3

After lunch on Sunday we had the opportunity to go see Keith White present a class on wedding design. He broke the class down into color schemes and emphasized using different tones of one color to create depth and impact in an arrangment or bouquet. He broke the colors into 3 main categories:
Orange and Red

Pinks and Purples

White and Green

It's classes and seminars like these that inspire us to experiment with wedding design and continually strive to be innovative. I especially loved the long dramatic bouquets - for example the white tulip bouquet with ice crystals wrapped around the stem. For some reason I can envision a winter bride carrying this style of bouquet. Or the Scepter bouquet with calla lilies, roses, and lily grass, it has a regal appeal with it's dramatic stem length. He also used different jewels to accent his designs, which was an interesting way to introduce some sparkle.
