Wedding of the Month...Part 2...

The Fazio club house was decorated to the 9's. It was the perfect setting to celebrate such a momentous occasion. With her existing color scheme and pops of orange the decor was absolutely stunning.

Two beautiful arrangements with a combination of all her colors introduced her guests to the party. Her accent pieces were a combination of various sized vases with teal pebbles, underwater lights, and clusters of coordinating blooms.

Each buffet station or room had a combination of different floral pieces in a beautiful clean style. This buffet piece was built on a natural trellis with paved orange lilies in the base and suspended yellow button pomanders to carry over her pomander theme from the ceremony.

Other buffet arrangements were a combination of different height vases filled with orchids, calla lilies, ranunculus, tulips, billy balls, and fern curls.

Sometimes it's all the details that brings an event together and for this reception every other chair was adorned with a mix of 5 different blue ribbons and a white gerbera daisy.

The covered patio was a sight to behold; with draping fabric on shades of teal, white and blue and white chinese lanterns hung throughout it created a serene feeling as you enjoyed the slight breeze and beautiful surroundings.
With alternating centerpiece styles we created big, beautiful pieces for the tall arrangements in out glass clarinet vases filled with white hydrangea, orange lilies, yellow tulips, yellow oncidium orchids and white standard calla lilies. surrounded with vases of floating candles in coordinating blue water.

While the law arrangements were a mix of different vases in a very simplistic style with clusters of each type of flower in each vase accented by a teal underwater light and mixed blue pebbles.

But who can have an outdoor buffet without a fabulous showpiece to draw your eyes to? We created this beautiful piece with manzinita branges strung with angel lights and hanging yellow button pomander balls.

The base of the piece was pillowed with white hydrangea, swirling callas, oncidium orchids, and vibrant tulips. It was spectacular and added the perfect touch to the outdoor decor.

Look familiar? I hope so! These little beauties are the yellow pomander balls from the ceremony. We transfered the flowers over to the reception so they could enjoy them all night long!

Wedding of the Month...Part 1...

Last weekend we had the opportunity to do fabulous florals for a stunning event at The Club at Carlton Woods Nicklaus and Fazio club houses.

The beautiful bride carried a bouquet of all miniature calla lilies in shades of white and yellow in a traditional beadermier style. While her bridesmaids carried all vibrant yellow miniature calla lilies.

The Groom wore a double miniature white calla lily boutonniere, while the groomsmen wore a yellow miniature calla lily with a two tone blue ribbon wrap. The mothers had fabulous wrist corsages of stephanotis blooms on a clear swarowski crystal bracelet.

Her ceremony was held on the veranda behind the Nicklaus club house, under a beautiful white tent. The aisle was adorned with our gorgeous shepherd hooks with soft yellow pomander balls on either side, a thick aisle runner with yellow rose petals on each side and a beautiful square arch covered in starfern, white calla lilies, yellow asiatic lilies, white and yellow spider mums and mixed greens.Her color pallet was vibrant and calming, almost reminiscent of a house on the beach on a warm sunny day. Her ceremony was a combination of various shades of teal and blue with white and yellow accents.

Spring Has Sprung!

There is something so refreshing about spring colors and this wedding showcased them at their finest. The cake was adorned with a beautiful cascade of yellow alstromeria, lavender miniature garden roses, dusty pink lisianthus, green hypericum and white miniature garden roses. While her bouquet was a soft mix of whites, ivories and greens with roses, freesia, hydrangea, and miniature garden roses.
Her altar arrangements were a beautiful display of white and pink gladiolas in a white urn and draping greenery, while her pew decor clusters of pink lilies, lavender roses, green hypericum with a soft blue ribbon. They added just the right amount of color to the church for her ceremony. It was a beautiful day for a beautiful bride! This is why I love spring!

Houston Cup 2011

Her funeral piece was big bold and full of texture. With red gingers, bells, vivid orange roses and purple orchids the colors were fabulous. Her bridal bouquet was done in a traditional cascade/ teardrop style with a beautiful focal area of stargazer lilies, orchids and roses.

Her interpretive piece was stunning with a gorgeous mix of natural and man made materials, mixed greens with great texture and all white blooms including Phaleanopsis orchids and white button mums. The line and texture details were stunning!

The Houston cup competition is the flower industry's equivalent of Iron chef in the food world. It's fast paced and fabulous and forces designers out of their comfort zone. It's a great way to see what you've got and show off your stuff! Once again, we want to make a big shout out to our very own Gena for wining the 2011 Houston cup!

Brag Board...

We are happy to announce that our very own Gena Bautista has won the 2011 Houston Cup competition!

We had a fabulous time going down to Greenleaf wholesale to watch Gena and 4 others compete for this prestigious award. She rocked the house with her big bold style and we are so excited for her. We will post more pictures of her fabulous designs soon, but we just couldn't wait to toot our horn! Congrats again Gena, we are so proud of you!

Party it up...

... At the Carlton Woods! The month of February saw many fabulous events at The Carlton Woods. Starting off with their wonderful Valentine's Day dinner for the lovers in the area. We decorated the club house with beautiful arrangements in all white and green with accents of red. The arrangements were a mix of beautiful tulips, hydrangea and roses.
But a week before Valentine's Day the Carlton Woods featured some of the new Ferrari models, and boy were they stunning! So of course we had to decorate the clubhouse with gorgeous masculine arrangements in rich oranges, reds and yellows. It's always fun to use a few tropicals for great shape with birds of paradise, mocara orchids, and pincushion protea.
At the end of February the Carlton Woods held the AJGA tournament at the Fazio golf course, and that night they celebrated with a fabulous carnival. The tables had gorgeous arrangements with bold color that mimicked a tropical paradise with blue delphinium, purple orchids, and yellow spiders.
But the show stopper for the carnival was the fabulous tropical tree of flowers with a focal paved area of flowers at it's base. Vivid orange protea, yellow oncidium orchids, blue delphinium, purple dendrobium orchids, bells of Ireland, yellow spider mums and mixed greens very a lively combination for this celebration!

The Valentine's Sprint

The month of celebrating love has come and gone and for most florists we can all take a deep breath. While we loved every minute of the continual stream of fun, we also love to get a break and have a chance to re-charge. So during this beautiful month of leprechauns and lucky charms We'll be excited to celebrate the post V-Day holiday and get ready for a very busy wedding month.
We did however have a few beautiful weddings this last month including one at the Woodlands Country Club. The pastel colors reminded us of the promise of spring and with flowers like tulips, lilies, hydrangea and roses it was a beautiful mix of textures and color.
Instead of a grooms cake they brought in Ben and Jerry's to do a Grooms ice cream bar, so we did some fun little arrangements with colored foam to mimic the B&J logo in the vase! We thought it was a fun touch to tie in the ice cream theme! What do you think?

Beautiful Traditions in Pink

There are some weddings that take your breath away. This was one of those. The decor for the ceremony was stunning! The Forest Deck gazebo was draped with our custom white curtains and a ribbon curtain with rose buds that moved with the wind, while underneath a traditional chuppah was decorated with a garland of flowers in beautiful pinks and whites. To top it all off there was an additional ribbon curtain that hung from the back of the chuppah with white and dusty pink rose buds that danced in the breeze.
The garland of smilax vine created a beautiful backdrop for the dusty pink lilies and white spider mums. At the beginning of the aisle they had 2 beautiful arrangements in tall cylinders filled with curly willow and big beautiful roses.
The wishing tree was a beautiful introduction to the Vista room. It was a place where the guests could make a wish for the couple and take a wish from the couple. Each wish would hang in the trees for the couple to enjoy later.
Luscious centerpieces filled with antique green hydrangea, two tone dusty pink roses, lisianthus and curly willow were the perfect touch on the tables, while a beautiful longer more fluid piece sat across the top of the mantle. It was a beautiful room that set the perfect ambiance for the bride and groom to celebrate their sacred day.

Dream Weddings Bridal Show Showcase...{part 2}

{Part 2 of our Dream Weddings bridal show showcase}

We love to make beautiful bouquets and the bridal show is a perfect time to try out new techniques and show you all the latest and greatest bridal trends.
Whites and greens are always a fresh combination with accents of hypericum berries and rolled ti leaves among a bed of creamy white roses. While in contrast we also created a gorgeous contemporary style bouquet with blue hydrangea silver wire and green anthirium.
Here is a beautiful bright bouquet in pinks, purples and greens with roses, ti leaves, orchids, lisianthus, trick and stock, in contrast to a beautiful white bouquet with crystal accents amongst roses, anthirium and miniature calla lilies.
Then of course we have to show off the vibrant colors of fall with rich orange roses and dark ti leaves, and a vivid hot pink cascade bouquet of all roses and grass.
Fall colors are always a hit with two tone roses in a traditional spiral stem wrap where it stands up by itself, or a modern cascade in a teardrop shape with callas, roses, orchids and amaranthus.

Dream Weddings Bridal Show Showcase...{part 1}

Hello February 15th! (All florists everywhere can now take a deep breath and start to clean up from the ensuing chaos that was Valentines Day... just kidding). But in reality we've been having way too much fun making gorgeous arrangements this lovers holiday. We finally have time to post all the fabulous pictures from the Dream Weddings bridal show at The Marriott in The Woodlands.
This was a piece we did for to show off our beautiful square wrought iron arch (that can also be turned into a chuppah!) With gorgeous dark purple hybrid delphinium, green bells of Ireland, purple lisianthus, curly willow and draping crystals.
This was our center table showing off all of our gorgeous bouquets and coordinating centerpieces. We always love having a variety of styles and colors for the brides to hold and admire.
This was the curtain of flowers that we did for The Club at Carlton Woods' booth. it was quite the show stopper. We love doing ceilings or walls covered in flowers, it always has amazing impact.
These were our fun filled pieces for The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center booth. Our 32" clarinet vase was showcasing a beautiful tall centerpiece with stargazer lilies, hot pink roses, hanging amaranthus and hydrangea was just luscious!
