Walking in a Winter Wonderland

There is something so cozy about chocolate and cream color schemes. It reminds me of hot chocolate with a dolop of whipped cream on top; the type of drink you'd have on a chilly winter day while your wrapped up in your favorite blanket sitting in front of the fire.
We created a forest of birch trees accented by a canopy of twinkle lights and hanging votive candles. Each centerpiece was filled with gorgeous white roses, chocolate wire and chocolate glittered leaves and branches.
It was a night to remember. As the lights went down and the fire started to flicker the ceiling glowed with a beautiful ambient light white the hanging candles flickered through the trees. There is nothing quite like actually being there, but it was stunning.

We want to take a second today and wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Thank you for your business. We will be forever grateful for the chance to create beautiful pieces for you, your friends and family to enjoy. Happy Holidays from all of us here at The Blooming Idea.

November Weddings

Here are just a few snapshots of some of the weddings we did in November. Featured above was a gorgeous ceremony set up with a beautiful white 100 foot aisle runner framed with glowing lanterns and mixed rose petals.
We also had a beautiful wedding on The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center Forest Deck. I love the way rose petals look along the aisle on the deck. It softens everything up and makes it feel so much more romantic. The coordinating centerpieces sat atop our rental fluted vases with hot pink miniature garden roses, lilies, and soft fillers with a mixture of greenery.
The blushing bride had her ceremony and reception at Ashton Gardens on a gorgeous day. Her vivid purple and yellow color scheme was stunning against the neutral background of the chapel and reception hall. Her bouquet was a modern cascade, or what we like to refer to as a tear drop style bouquet with oriental lilies, stephanotis, roses, lisianthus and white cushion mums creating beautiful texture and a rich fragrance.
Her cake was one of the most original I've seen. I loved the classic style with modern influences. The yellow roses really popped off the creamy white cake tiers.
For this beautiful bride we went with an all red color scheme with accents of rusty orange to add depth and contrast. Her ceremony was held on The Warff Terrace at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center while the reception was right across the pier in The Glass. Her tall centerpieces were filled with gorgeous red gladiolas, while her low centerpieces included a mix of lilies, cushion mums, alstromeria and mixed greenery.

It was a month filled with rich colors and beautiful brides! Of course these weren't all the events we did, but I'll be featuring more soon. So stay tuned!

Pave'd Centerpieces

These gorgeous centerpieces were made for a gentlemen's golf team dinner at The Club at Carlton Woods. Every now and then it's nice to change your decor up a bit. It can be as simple as changing a color or making something taller, but in this case we did the opposite; we went short or more appropriately, pave'd.
Pave' is a technique where everything is kept short and clustered together for dramatic texture and subtle impact. These beauties were made in beautiful chocolate brown trays with clustered grasses, roses and other varieties of blooms. We even added a golf ball on some moss to mimic the greens of the Carlton Woods Courses.

A Royal Tablescape

Tablescapes are always eye catching and set a beautiful romantic mood for any event. They are by far one of my favorite types of floral decor. I love the different elements, texture, and heights that can be incorporated into one cohesive piece.
For this event there were two golf teams whose colors were red and blue having a fabulous dinner at The Club at Carlton Woods. One side of the table was red and the other blue.
We used a variety of flowers and fruits to create different shapes and textures throughout the tablescape.
And of course for any formal dinner, candlelight is always a must. We used raised cake platters for wreaths of flowers and pillar candles and votive glass holders for two levels of light.

Marathon Weekend... part 2

The Pecten Ballroom at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center is one of the larger ballrooms with high ceilings. In order to really create a "wow" impact you need to fill the space with some thing gorgeous, lush, and colorful. Now what in the world could that possibly be? Hmm.... Oh, I know FLOWERS!
These gorgeous flowers were amazing; and when you walked into the room you had to stop and admire all the gorgeous flowers. We did some tall and some low arrangements which creates depth and interest but the tall arrangements really added the "WOW" factor. With a mixture of roses, lilies, mums, hypericum, dahlias, orchids, and miniature garden roses the flowers really brought the room to life.

This was an event to remember. With spring time colors that were fresh and exciting these gorgeous centerpieces in the Emerald Ballroom at the Woodlands Resort and Conference Center were the perfect compliment to a formal event.
Filled with dendrobium orchids, yellow roses, green gladiolas, green cymbidium orchids, bells of Ireland and seeded eucalyptus these arrangements were fresh, fun and formal.

A Weekend Marathon... part 1

There is something magical about the fall, but at the while time seems to disappear at an increasingly rapid pace. The beautiful weather is the perfect setting for outdoor weddings. I'm sure many of us would love to have been married or would love to get married on a beautifully non-humid day where the temperatures linger around 70 degrees. While not all of us have that luxury, on October 16th we celebrated the beautiful weather with 11 events! Yes, I said 11. Our expert team managed every detail to perfection. So here is part one our very own October marathon!
Rich colors really popped of the heavenly background. Blooms of asiatic lilies, two tone roses, bells of ireland and hypericum berries provided luscious texture for her guests to enjoy.
I love to see all the different cakes at the weddings we do. I am amazed at the talent that I see in all the intricate work that goes into every layer, every ribbon and every piped design. I always end up dreaming about what wonderful concoctions are inside; they always smell so lovely!

I fell in love with the designs for this wedding. I love texture and of course my favorite color is green! I am continually attracted to the fresh and energizing effects that a green and white event has on those lucky enough to enjoy the decor. This brides dress was truly stunning and she was so sweet.
I loved the table centerpieces; full, lush and slightly funky with hydrangea, spider mums, green hypericum, and monkey tails!

Her ceremony was held of the Forest Deck at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center. Our rental curtains created a soft ambiance for the ceremony, accented by 2 gorgeous altar arrangements in all white and green.

Stay tuned for part 2 of our 11 event marathon weekend!

All Hallows Eve

One of our favorite things about this time of year, other than the crisp cool air, which has finally decided to stay for a while, are the fabulous parties! This year for The Club at Carlton Woods children's Halloween party was filled with fun, bright, and vibrant fall colors and Spooky accents.
They also had an adult Halloween party with gorgeous plum, black, lavender and ruby toned decor. Each centerpiece was filled with texture, glitter, fragrance and even illuminated by a lavender underwater light.
With suspended orchids and arching tulips these tall centerpieces were stunning against the platinum linens from The Linen House.
Our Dessert table buffet arrangement was truly alive with a skull and horns.
Our showpiece for the event consisted of a giant black tree with black ribbon, purple glitter leaves, led twinkling lights and orchids tangled throughout the branches. at the base of the tree a beautiful black urn was exploding with rich vibrant blooms. Now, we don't simple use flowers in our arrangements, we incorporated beautiful plum glitter branches, eggplant artichokes, ribbons and lights. With all these beautiful elements we can create a truly spectacular showpiece.

Always Timeless

There is something that is timeless about a red, black and white color scheme. Here are a few pictures from one of our 30 October events.
 Happy November!

Oranges and Limes Anyone?

There is something refreshing about bright colors paired with a fresh green. Green, although used mostly as a neutral can add energy and vibrance to other colors to truly make them pop.
We used a combination of a few different designs for the table centerpieces. One of our most popular tall arrangements is a natural all around design atop our fluted vase. This type of arrangement can be done in any color combination and any style. The second style was a cluster of candles and blooms atop a layer of green sheet moss with candles in various heights of squares. With gorgeous platinum linens the blooms shined and filled the room with beautiful color.

Dripping With Flowers

Carlton Woods celebrated the champions from their annual Member Guest golf tournament with an absolutely gorgeous event on Saturday night. In this instance, pictures truly don't do our work justice. With a woodsy and  almost ethereal ambiance we aimed to please with rich autumn tones and bright bold blooms. We had such a great time decorating the entire ceiling of the wine room at the Fazio with beautiful anthirium, roses, spider mums, orchids, and draping vines.
For the Champions tables we used one of our big beautiful metal trees with hanging arrangements and candles and roots of flowers extending along the table. Additional candlelight was scattered throughout the table. Each clear votive cylinder was wrapped in a sycamore tree leaf and rafia.

The event had 3 big beautiful and bold showpieces. Our "wave" as we like to refer to it was something you couldn't miss. With bark, curly willow, mushrooms, dangling crystals and twinkling lights the flowers grew out of the crevasses in between. With anthirium, hanging amaranthus, spider mums, two tone roses and gorgeous cushion mums the colors were awe-inspiring.
Each table had a coordinating arrangement. Some had beautiful metal trees with hanging candles and flowers and some had more traditional all around arrangements, rich with fall colors.

Our third showpiece was dripping with crystals. Constructed on a tilted armature and woven with curly willow the flowers spiraled up through the canopy as the giant glass crystals caught the sunlight.
If you can think of it, we can do it, and we'd also be more than happy to dream it up for you too! Our team at  The Blooming Idea works seamlessly together to create stunning floral displays for any event. We had a fabulous time working on all the arrangements for the Carlton Woods Member Guest event and are looking forward to a holiday season filled with fun and exciting parties. Make sure to call us now to book your holiday party, because no party is complete without gorgeous flowers!
