May Wedding at The Carlton Woods

 This post is all about the romance of weddings. What a BEAUTIFUL wedding at The Club at Carlton Woods. With flowers literally everywhere the entire clubhouse was transformed into a beautiful romantic oasis for the couple to celebrate their union!
The ceremony decor consisted of a square arch covered with white hydrangea, peach and yellow roses, various green vines and accents of curly willow.
The aisle was accented by a white aisle runner, rose petals on either side and these beautiful iron shepherd hooks with open lanterns, each holding a beautiful arrangement of flowers including white hydrangea, peach roses, yellow miniature garden roses and accents of curly willow.

 The reception was truly stunning. A focal table of clustered bouquets of all the flowers used throughout the wedding slanted in tall glass cylinders was eye catching!
 With 4 different styles of arrangements the table centerpieces were incredible... WOW!

 It was a pleasure to provide stunning florals for a fabulous bride. We love what we do and are grateful for the opportunity to share with you!

July Weddings {part 3}

 Filled with bright colors and warm summer days, July is never a disappointment when it comes to beautiful weddings. This stunning display of pink hydrangea hot pink roses, greenery and tulle across the arch created a soft background for the blushing bride and handsome groom. Their reception was held in the Emerald Ballroom at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center. The tall centerpieces with orange lilies, hot pink miniature garden roses, and alstromeria were perfect accents of color throughout the room.
 Peachy keen! These beautiful salmon colored miniature garden roses white spider mums and orange lilies mixed together in low glass bowls coordinated perfectly with tall arrangements of gladiolas, hydrangea, and lilies.
 Long and low arrangements are perfect for long head tables where you don't want to block conversation or have a large tall arrangement in the middle of the bride and groom.
Pink weddings are always popular. This reception held in the Emerald Ballroom of The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center. The contrast of light and hot pinks is a soft and fun pallet illuminating the ballroom with a feminine and romantic flare.

Peaches and Cream

There are some new trends that we can't get enough of, and this is one of them. We call it a reception bouquet. It's a brides bouquet that she can wear like a purse on her arm at the reception. The genious-ness behind the idea is that she can dance, greet guests, even eat, while still sporting beautiful flowers. It hangs softly from her arm as she sways with her new husband, and accents her dress as she greets and visits with her guests, while her traditional bouquet can be displayed safely at her table and be ready for pictures whenever she needs it. We can add beads, decorative wire, all sorts of different greens or flowers, the possibilities are endless. Let us create a beautiful reception bouquet for your special day!

Catching up!

*Also as a reminder, don't forget that THIS THURSDAY the 17th we are celebrating our 9th anniversary with our annual Holiday Showcase and food drive at the shop from 5-8 p.m. Remember we are offering 40% off holiday silk arrangements! We will also be serving a wide array of goodies, wine and cheese, so come by and celebrate with us!*

October is always such a busy month that it often takes us a little while to play catch up with all the pictures we want to showcase! But here are a few more that we couldn't let slip by. October was a beautiful month with mild weather and gorgeous color. That also made for a fabulous time to have bridal portraits taken. Here are a few of the fun and funky portrait bouquets from last month.
We also had a party at The Marriott with over 70 tables! The arrangements for the reception after the golf tournament were beautiful with giant antique green hydrangea, two tone high and magic roses, draping seeded eucalyptus and brown hypericum berries. Later we also added some bear grass and yellow oncidium orchids to change the arrangements up just a bit for another luncheon held the next day.
And of course there are always weddings in October. This beautiful ceremony at The Club at Carlton Woods was kept simple with peaches and creams, soft draping greens and just the right touch of traditional elegance with a soft curved arch.

What better way to welcome guests into your home than to have an abundance of fresh flowers in every room! What was even better about this home is that they had stunning antique vases that already coordinated with each room.

Our designers used a mixture of antique green hydrangea, esperance roses, peach finesse roses, sweetness roses, pink lisianthus, peach roses, champagne roses, soft pink gladiolas, green button poms and bells of Ireland, with a few greens mixed in throughout the arrangements.

Wild Weekend

May is one of those months that seems to be simply wild. We love it here; from the weddings to the graduation parties, prom and Mother's Day we stay hoppin'! The picture above are a few styles of arrangements that we used in The Grand Ballroom at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center. Due to the tall ceiling and shear magnitude of the room we like to use a few different styles of centerpieces to add interest to the tables. Here we incorporated all her colors by color blocking each style of arrangement. With low arrangements filled with green hydrangea and hypericum, the middle sized arrangements with blue hydrangea and iris and the tall arrangements with all white gladiolas.
May is also fun because it is one of the few months where the weather is simply beautiful, so every color scheme tends to look amazing. This was a fun party with vibrant oranges and corals with a tropical feel.These fun arrangements reminded me of peaches and cream. We loved the polka dot table cloths, they really made the flowers stand out.
We have been getting a beautiful rose in lately called finesse. It's like a cross between a traditional garden rose and a david austin rose. It's frilly and comes is yellow, peach pink and green. It is one of my favorite roses. It's always fun to play with new varieties.

The Valentine's Sprint

The month of celebrating love has come and gone and for most florists we can all take a deep breath. While we loved every minute of the continual stream of fun, we also love to get a break and have a chance to re-charge. So during this beautiful month of leprechauns and lucky charms We'll be excited to celebrate the post V-Day holiday and get ready for a very busy wedding month.
We did however have a few beautiful weddings this last month including one at the Woodlands Country Club. The pastel colors reminded us of the promise of spring and with flowers like tulips, lilies, hydrangea and roses it was a beautiful mix of textures and color.
Instead of a grooms cake they brought in Ben and Jerry's to do a Grooms ice cream bar, so we did some fun little arrangements with colored foam to mimic the B&J logo in the vase! We thought it was a fun touch to tie in the ice cream theme! What do you think?

Dream Weddings Bridal Show Showcase...{part 2}

{Part 2 of our Dream Weddings bridal show showcase}
We love to make beautiful bouquets and the bridal show is a perfect time to try out new techniques and show you all the latest and greatest bridal trends.
Whites and greens are always a fresh combination with accents of hypericum berries and rolled ti leaves among a bed of creamy white roses. While in contrast we also created a gorgeous contemporary style bouquet with blue hydrangea silver wire and green anthirium.
Here is a beautiful bright bouquet in pinks, purples and greens with roses, ti leaves, orchids, lisianthus, trick and stock, in contrast to a beautiful white bouquet with crystal accents amongst roses, anthirium and miniature calla lilies.
Then of course we have to show off the vibrant colors of fall with rich orange roses and dark ti leaves, and a vivid hot pink cascade bouquet of all roses and grass.
Fall colors are always a hit with two tone roses in a traditional spiral stem wrap where it stands up by itself, or a modern cascade in a teardrop shape with callas, roses, orchids and amaranthus.

Stay tuned for part 3 of our showcase!

Easter Weekend Part 3

With beautiful skies, a cool breeze, and the birds singing their sweet melodies how could you not just step back and say to yourself, "Self, it's going to be a B-E-A utiful day!" (Pardon my stealing a line from the Truman Show).

Sunday morning we arrived at The Carlton Woods - Nicklaus Clubhouse bright and early to begin the set up for their Sunday Brunch event. This was the final event of the weekend, and the atmosphere was sweet, romantic, and peaceful. Our showpiece for Sunday was truly spectacular. This being our second time building a tree out of flowers in conversation I have come to refer to as "The Tree of Life - Spring Edition." The first tree we built was back in September of 2008, so all the colors were rich in deep fall tones. This was the original:
So as you can imagine it was a pleasure to be able to do it again, but of course, bigger and better. We added blooming forsythia to re-enforce the bright colors of spring, paired with lavender roses, peach miniature garden roses, peach lilies, light green hanging amaranthus, white stock, and some of the biggest yellow roses I've ever seen. It was truly spectacular.

Our centerpieces for the tables coordinated with peach lilies, purple stock, roses and solidago in clear glass cubes. We also had the pleasure of designing a smaller tree for another accent piece, so now we have added a miniature to our collection, eventually we'll have a forest! ;) It is so much fun to plan and execute these aw-inspiring showpieces. In short, we all absolutely LOVE what we do.

We hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend. Remember to enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasts!
