Thanksgiving 2012

As we near the end of the year we want to do a re-cap of our fabulous 2012 holiday season. I'd like to start with Thanksgiving. This year at The Club at Carlton Woods we amazed the crowds with a full, lucious and absolutely divine giant cornucopia. This beautiful showpiece was overflowing with lilies, mums, antique green hydrangea, flat copper wire, roses, cabbage, lotus pods, bitter sweet and other fun textures. It was a sight to behold!
The shell of the cornucopia was decorated with curly willow, lilies, lotus pods and copper accents. And the front, well, you couldn't miss it and had to take a long look inside to see all the wonderful goodies.
Like any fabulous party you can't have just one centerpiece, especially in a venue as large and fabulous as The Club at Carlton Woods. This beautiful buffet arrangement in a sweeping cornucopia design was filled with roses, wheat, millet, hanging amaranthus, mums, and spiders all in rich autumn tones.

Here are a few of the lovely ladies who worked on this event! Like I've said before if you can dream it we can do it, and if you don't want to think about it then let our creative minds soar for you. These are the kinds of beauties we are inspired by.
Another buffet table was decorated with this more traditional and full arrangement. With white manzinita branches intertwined with the arrangement it created fun lines and a great focal. The other flowers in this arrangement are mocara orchids, roses, spider mums, pom poms, solidago, hydragea and croton leaves accented by pumpkins.
And of course each table had their own miniature cornucopia filled with a variety of rich autumn colors, minature roses, mums, wheat and croton leaves.

Classic Christmas Colors...

 Merry Christmas!
We want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. We also want to take an opportunity to thank our loyal customers, fellow readers and daily inspiration for all your love and continued support.

December in Houston typically has wonderful weather which makes for fabulous outdoor weddings. And there is no better color scheme for a winter wedding than a classic red, white and black.
This beautiful bride held her ceremony outdoors on the Forest Deck at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center. Her altar arrangements in a simple yet bold style with all vibrant red gladiolas with simple greenery framed the gazebo perfectly, ensuring that the bride and groom were the true focal point of the event. The cake was decorated with red roses and beautiful red gladiola blooms. The two blooms together created a fabulous mix of textures.
Their reception was held in the Emerald Ballroom at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center. With alternating arrangements of tall glass fluted vases filled with red gladiolas blooms and low arrangements with white hydrangea and roses, the room was filled with beautiful color.

A Very Merry Christmas Indeed...

What a wonderful time of year to celebrate! This is just a taste of how we like to spice up the holidays!
The annual Advisory Board dinner at The Club at Carlton Woods always is an event to behold, and this year was no different.
This fabulous table scape of whites, browns and evergreens with crystal and candlelight accents made the dining room sparkle.
The table was decorated with a beautiful suspended trellis draped with fresh evergreen garland. The silky sheer overlay was accented by hanging candles, crystal strands and orchid blooms. Underneath the creamy canopy were lush arrangements of white roses, white anthirium, butterscotch and chocolate cymbidium orchid blooms, brown hypericum berries, white tulips, and frosted poinsettias. The arrangements alternated between sitting flat on the table and on an iron claw pedestal.
And no table scape is complete without a ridiculous amount of candles in goblet candle holders and crystal votive cups. On the buffet table was a fabulous, lush, and eye catching centerpiece filled with glittered birch branches, white stock, green hanging anthirium, red roses and beautiful evergreens. The aroma as you entered the dining room was amazing. It smelled just like Christmas!

Texas Winters

Texas winters are often so mild through the end of the year, which gives those who love the outdoors even more time to appreciate all they have to offer. It's especially nice if you have always wanted an outdoor wedding, because so many of our Saturdays are filled with blue skies and mild temperatures. This stunning arch display set the back drop with soft vines trailing down either side of the arch, and vibrant blue, yellow and orange arrangements across the top. The cake looked truly scrumptious with chocolate icing and bright flowers cascading down the side. The bridal bouquet was a beautiful mix of red ranunculus, indigo lisianthus, yellow roses and lavender accents.

Succulents and Lotus Pods

Tablescapes are such an elegant way to dress up a long dining room table. Especially during the holidays when you are usually seating more than usual. These gorgeous arrangements were lively and lit up the room!
Vibrant orange two tone roses, butterscotch cymbidium orchids, red lilies, brown hypericum berries, succulents, lotus pods, striped aspidistra leaves and loops of curly willow gave these centerpieces a natural  and fluid feel while energizing the room with fabulous colors.

Bridal Bouquets of October

We love posting weddings in their entirety, but sometimes it's fun to see pieces of the weddings we've done side by side. One of my favorite pieces to compare are the bridal bouquets. (white hydrangea, white roses, green miniature hydrangea, white miniature calla lilies, green hypericum berries.)
It's fun to see different trends, colors and styles of weddings all held within a short amount of time. (Pink roses and white wax flower)
This soft and romantic bridal bouquet of white hydrangea and various sizes of pink roses smelled heavenly.
The fun contrast in colors of this bouquet caught the attention of the brides guests. (Plum lisianthus, lavender roses, tinted green hydrangea, plum stock, and green maranthus.)
I love the timelessness of a fabulous cascade bouquet and this one stole the show with white dendrobium orchid blooms strung along bear grass mixed with white roses, calla lilies and touches of greenery.
This mix of miniature calla lilies is a striking design of beautiful line, simplistic texture and contrasting color. We love weddings!!!

Sparkling Roses

Tablescapes are one of our many specialties. With esparance roses, antique green hydrangeas, miniature garden roses and green hanging amaranthus they were the perfect combination of soft, romantic colors for a very romantic eventing.
Using silver pedestal vases for the arrangements and silver goblets for the candles heightened the luxurious ambiance of the dinner.
The men's boutonnieres were spiced up a little with hot pink wire wrapped around the rose bud and swirled around the top. The wire is a fun metalic accent, helping to make something very traditional a little more modern.

Don't you love the canopy effect you get with a high and low tablescape? I know I do!

A Few Fabulous Fall Centerpieces

Grand is always more fun! These centerpieces used at various events at The Club at Carlton Woods were spectacular focal points; with vibrant colors, wonderful movement, and amazing flowers they are a feast for the eyes.
I'm a sucker for rich fall tones, exemplified by this stunning arrangement. The chocolate cymbidium in the vase accented by orange pebbles and topped with butterscotch football mums, orange lilies, burgundy cushions and amaranthus. Ahhh, it just screams fall, and I love it!
Happy Fall!

Spook-tacular Arrangements

Halloween is such a fun holiday. With vibrant oranges, lime greens, plum and black the contrast between the shades is fun and slightly mysterious.
Each year at the Carlton Woods they throw a fabulous Halloween Party for the Children in the neighborhood. So we like to get a little spooky with our flowers.
Plus it's a fabulous excuse to incorporate candy into our arrangements. And honestly, who doesn't love candy?

Autumn Dinner

Beautiful fall weather is always inviting for fabulous family dinners, social gatherings and of course a good party!. These whimsical centerpieces were filled with australian greenery, two toned yellow and orange roses, burgundy daisy poms, and brown hypericum berries with curly willow accents.
For the cocktail tables we created these whimsical arrangements using copper flat wire, river rocks and mocara orchid blooms.
