Wild Weekend

May is one of those months that seems to be simply wild. We love it here; from the weddings to the graduation parties, prom and Mother's Day we stay hoppin'! The picture above are a few styles of arrangements that we used in The Grand Ballroom at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center. Due to the tall ceiling and shear magnitude of the room we like to use a few different styles of centerpieces to add interest to the tables. Here we incorporated all her colors by color blocking each style of arrangement. With low arrangements filled with green hydrangea and hypericum, the middle sized arrangements with blue hydrangea and iris and the tall arrangements with all white gladiolas.
May is also fun because it is one of the few months where the weather is simply beautiful, so every color scheme tends to look amazing. This was a fun party with vibrant oranges and corals with a tropical feel. These fun arrangements reminded me of peaches and cream. We loved the polka dot table cloths, they really made the flowers stand out.
We have been getting a beautiful rose in lately called finesse. It's like a cross between a traditional garden rose and a david austin rose. It's frilly and comes is yellow, peach pink and green. It is one of my favorite roses. It's always fun to play with new varieties.

Time Period Parties...

... are always more fun! We recently made fun arrangements in vintage malt glasses for a 50's themed party at The Club at Carlton Woods.
The bright vibrant colors stood out and created a fun and youthful ambiance throughout the room. Fun accents like aluminum wire and color changing lights helped add to the party atmosphere!

A Whirlwind of Weddings

It's that time of year again when the weather is perfect, the flowers are blooming and the brides are marching. What a beautiful time to get married when all of nature seems to be singing your praises.
It is such an honor to be a part of such special occasions, and our team here at The Blooming Idea takes pride in each piece we create. Here is just a snapshot of some of the recent weddings we've had our hand in.

This wedding was held at Ashton Gardens in their beautiful chapel and reception hall. The all white color scheme is always so bridal and calming. Their center pieces had submerged miniature garden rose blooms with fluffy white hydrangea on top to add a fun element of interest to the table while her aisle was adorned with lanterns and hydrangeas on the pews.

Pink and white always scream wedding and this bouquet was stunning. With emphasis on texture and depth the combination of full size roses, miniature garden roses, freesia, hydrangea and lisianthus it was gorgeous to look at and sweet to the nose!

Belle Rose in Beautiful Blues

We had some absolutely beautiful weddings this past month and the event at Belle Rose Maison was no exception. With blue hydgrangea, beautiful white roses, blue delphinium and hot pink miniature garden roses with dangling crystals atop tall cylinders with curly willow inside the vase. Against the royal blue pin tuck linens the arrangements were stunning. We also used phaleanopsis orchid plants as accents in different area of the ballroom and in the bathrooms to add just a little more personality to the evening. It was a beautiful night to celebrate!

A Hint of Blush

There is something so beautiful about a soft color pallet with whites, greens and a hint of a blush pink. It just screams bridal, in a soft pretty way ;)... This beautiful bride had her ceremony at the Woodlands United Methodist Church in the Robb Chapel. The chapel was decorated with white roses on the pews, white hydrangea plants on the altar and beautiful greenery wreaths with a white focal area of mixed flowers on the doors.

Her bouquet was a stunning mix of all white flowers including peonies, roses and miniature calla lilies. The fragrance was incredible. I always say, if your nose allows, that every bride should have something sweet to smell when their photographer tells them to put their nose in their bouquet. It adds just a little something extra to the day and pleasant memories when you come across familiar fragrances later.
Her reception was held at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center in the Palmetto Room. With beautiful black linens and white chair covers the flowers really had a chance to shine! With gorgeous white gladiolas in tall glass flutes and a textural mix of blooms in the low arrangements you couldn't help but say "Wow" as you walked into the room. Her low arrangements were filled with a beautiful mix of blush dahlias, bells of Ireland and white hydrangea (please pardon the picture it looks like yellow... but it's really white) with a soft mix of greens. It was a gorgeous day for a fabulous bride.

Showing off in Spring

There is something about the weather in spring that is so nice. I love it when mother nature shows off and lets all her favorite flowers burst into bloom. This beautiful bride got to enjoy the best of the season.

Her bouquet was a beautiful mix of soft pink and white roses with Stephanotis blooms while her boutonnieres were a simple white rose with a blue delphinium bloom accent. While outside she had 2 fabulous candelabra arrangments to frame the lovely couple during their ceremony.
