Easter Weekend... Part 2

Saturday morning at The Club at Carlton Woods - Nicklas they host their annual Breakfast with the Easter bunny event! It's such a fun event for the kids. The colors are always bright and the flowers always beautiful and very "Spring-y"

Our centerpieces this year were terra cotta pots with groupings of flowers including: lavender stock, yellow tulips, blue hydrangea and peach gerber a daisies!

The buffet centerpieces included fun mixed of the orange/ peach colors, blue and yellows. And we also decorated the front table at Nicklas for the weekend with coordinating colors for both events. We used beautiful lilies, stock, eucalyptus, manzinita, forsythia and solidago!

Stay tuned for part 3!

Easter Weekend... part 1

Each year we have a wonderfully busy Easter weekend with lots of events and fun parties. But we always like to showcase our annual events at The Club at Carlton Woods starting with Friday nights seafood buffet. Above is a fabulous piece with purple mocara orchids, green anthirium, purple tulips, curly willow, and green spider buttons in a giant sea shell.
We coordinated the fun purples and green with a few blue and teal accents for the table centerpieces.
We also did some fun smaller pieces for the buffets and longer tables in little sea shells!
And of course we always do a few stunning showpieces! This beautiful piece with white manzinita branches, green anthirium, draping leaves, purple mocaras and splashes of blocking forsythia was the star of the night!

Stay tuned for part 2 of our fabulous Easter Weekend at The Club(s) at Carlton Woods...

Amber Springs Open House

Amber Springs is one of north Houston's premier event halls. With indoor and outdoor ceremony locations, stunning landscapes and a fun, rustic and open reception hall it's the perfect place for your wedding or reception! The bouquets above (left to right): a modern take on a teardrop cascade bouquet with lots of texture and movement in hot pinks, lavender and bits of yellow with greenery accents, a beautiful mix of blues and purples in a teardrop style with liatris, delphinium, stock, statice and a fun accent of thistle, and last but not least a beautiful mix of pink and plum miniature calla lilies with feather accents and looped aspidistra leaves.
We had the opportunity to participate in a wonderful open house at Amber Springs in March. Here were some of the fun florals we brought with us! At any open house or bridal show we love to present brides with a wide variety of bouquet styles, sizes, and blooms. We encourage our potential brides to pick up, hold, twirl with and smell our beautiful bouquets. It's a great way to get a good idea of the type of bouquet you'd want on your big day! The bouquets above (left to right): a traditional hand tied, with ranunculus, peonies, roses, stock and a few greens around the collar. A hand tied with white roses and ranunculus featuring full sized green cymbidium orchids. And last but not least a beautiful two tones all rose hand tied bouquet.
Here are some more pictures of our tables with a few more bouquets (top to bottom): a fun fall mix of sunflowers, two tone fiery roses, red hypericum berries for great texture, wheat and seeded eucalyptus, and another fun fall color mix with pops of cream and loops of curly willow over the top of alstromeria, miniature garden roses, safari sunset and full size roses. While out centerpiece was a beautiful mix of white roses and green spiders with safari sunset and blooming branches (with lights) (that are available for rent) on top of a tall glass rectangle with submerged green cymbidium orchids suspended in the vase.
Here's another view of our stunning centerpiece and another fun cocktail table, accent table or bathroom arrangement of a simple cymbidium in a low glass cube with rock or leaf accents! You could even add an underwater light to add an extra splash of color! Like what you see? Give us a call, if you can dream it we can do it!

A Busy Month

Here are a few pictures from what was a very busy month for us at The Blooming Idea! Enjoy!
We love decorating every part of the reception halls and in The Vista at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center we made these fun pomanders out of green and purple blooms to lay across the planters!
Hello purple and greens! These little beauties in The Vista Ballroom at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center were fabulous pops of color!
The Glass Ballroom at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center is a beautiful setting for any ceremony. The mixed petals with the green and plum shades of floral accents were a stunning combination for this couple.
Soft cream roses against pillowy hydrangeas look almost as fluffy as you'd imagine a cloud would be. The were perfect bouquets for this traditional wedding at The Robb Chapel at The United Methodist Church in The Woodlands, TX.

Purple is the color of royalty. And isn't that exactly what you want to feel like on your wedding day? These beautiful lavender roses are the perfect softer accent against the white hydrangeas.

Peaches and Cream

There are some new trends that we can't get enough of, and this is one of them. We call it a reception bouquet. It's a brides bouquet that she can wear like a purse on her arm at the reception. The genious-ness behind the idea is that she can dance, greet guests, even eat, while still sporting beautiful flowers. It hangs softly from her arm as she sways with her new husband, and accents her dress as she greets and visits with her guests, while her traditional bouquet can be displayed safely at her table and be ready for pictures whenever she needs it. We can add beads, decorative wire, all sorts of different greens or flowers, the possibilities are endless. Let us create a beautiful reception bouquet for your special day!

The Color of Love

There are some colors that will always be fashionable for weddings. White is ever popular with it's many different variations, but the most common color that has withstood the test of time seems to be red. A beautiful color that evokes feelings of passion, love and romance.

This beautiful wedding on the Forest Deck at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center was a gorgeous display of red, featuring roses as the primary bloom of choice. The aisle was lined with red rose petals and wrought iron shepherds hooks with hanging red pomanders and black lanterns. The gazebo itself was draped in a pair of soft white curtains accented by red rose floral tie backs and tulle along the top.
The reception was held in The Glass ballroom at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center, which is one of our favorite rooms. We love how the walls of glass let your guests enjoy the evening views over the beautiful golf course.
With an assortment of tall and low arrangements for the tables her guests were greeted by a beautiful display of flowers at all levels as they entered the reception. We also hung strands of rose petals from the ceiling over the dance floor as another red accent in the room.
The combination of roses and stock created a soft sultry scent to the room and the vivid contrast in color kept her guests looking and admiring for long after their initial impression. With classic colors you just can't seems to go wrong!
